📢 Lost and Found Reminder
Dear Central Families,
Our school’s Lost and Found is overflowing! We currently have a large number of sweatshirts, coats, and jackets that students have left behind.
Please take a moment to check the Lost and Found area for any missing items. Encourage your child to look through the collection or stop by yourself during drop-off or pick-up times.
Any unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of after October 31!
Thank you for helping us reunite these lost items with their owners and keep our school tidy!

Dear Central Families,
As the weather begins to get colder, we want to remind everyone to please make sure students come to school dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Whenever possible, students will continue to go outside for fresh air and playtime, even on chilly days.
Please ensure your child has a warm coat, hat, and gloves or mittens each day, as well as any other clothing needed to stay comfortable during outdoor activities. Labeling your child’s items with their name can also help prevent lost belongings.
Thank you for helping us keep all students safe, warm, and ready to enjoy recess throughout the fall and winter seasons!
Warm regards,
Steve Collins & Monica West

Just a reminder of our PTO meeting on Thursday, October 16 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Central library. We hope to see you!
Dear La Grande School District Families, Staff, and Community,
Please be advised that all schools will be closed on Thursday, November 7, 2025.
This decision was made to support our role as host of the OSAA 1A/2A Volleyball State Championships. Due to the large number of visiting teams, fans, and officials, we anticipate significant parking and traffic congestion around the high school, Central elementary and La Grande middle school campuses. Closing for the day will ensure safe and efficient access for all guests, volunteers, and event operations.
We shall reschedule this school day to take place on June 5, 2026.
We appreciate your understanding and support as La Grande proudly welcomes schools from across Oregon to this exciting state championship event!

Dear families:
Starting Monday, September 29, for the safety and comfort of all our students, staff, and families, we kindly ask that pets, including dogs, not be brought to the student pick up and drop off areas during arrival and dismissal times. Even well behaved pets can be unpredictable in busy environments, and some children may have allergies or fears.
To help us maintain a calm and safe environment for everyone, we appreciate your cooperation in leaving pets at home or keeping them secured away from school entrances. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe and welcoming for all!
