Plastic letters that read: Math is fun

Central Elementary Family Math Nights

Students and families of Central Elementary are invited to explore math at upcoming Family Math Nights in February.

The K-2 Math Night for kindergarten through second grade students is Thursday, February 2 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. The 3-5 Math Night for third through fifth grade students is Thursday, February 23 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.

Pizza dinner will be served at both events. In addition to parents, siblings of students can also attend. The event is FREE.

During the Math Nights, children and their parents will visit multiple stations to learn math games using dice and cards and receive materials to take home so they can play the games at home.

“We hope that families learning the math games together and playing them at home will increase math fluency in students as well as encourage family time,” said Monica West, Principal at Central Elementary.

Students from EOU will be at the events volunteering in the classrooms and helping to facilitate the math games.
